The CAREER Department at Lifetrack Resources works with immigrants and refugees to promote their adjustment to the American workplace through workforce development, placement in employment, and follow-up retention services.
Volunteer responsibilities will consist of:
- Assisting jobseekers in the resume writing process.
- Preparing jobseekers for employment by conducting mock interviews.
- Provide feedback on how to improve the jobseeker's presentation skills and likeliness of getting hired.
- Assist the jobseeker, as well as the job counselor, to give constructive feedback, post interview process.
- Conduct workshops on American work culture.
Requirements:
- Time commitment of once a week for two hours is preferred.
- Great customer service skills a must.
- Good communication and management skills.
- Previous experience with employment services preferred.
- Great attention to details.
- Previous experience with interviewing job applicants or in Human Resources a plus.
