Resume Writing / American Work Culture Volunteer

The CAREER Department at Lifetrack Resources works with immigrants and refugees to promote their adjustment to the American workplace through workforce development, placement in employment, and follow-up retention services.

Volunteer responsibilities will consist of:

  • Assisting jobseekers in the resume writing process.
  • Preparing jobseekers for employment by conducting mock interviews.
  • Provide feedback on how to improve the jobseeker's presentation skills and likeliness of getting hired.
  • Assist the jobseeker, as well as the job counselor, to give constructive feedback, post interview process.
  • Conduct workshops on American work culture.

Requirements:

  • Time commitment of once a week for two hours is preferred.
  • Great customer service skills a must.
  • Good communication and management skills.
  • Previous experience with employment services preferred.
  • Great attention to details.
  • Previous experience with interviewing job applicants or in Human Resources a plus.
