Preschool Student

Families Together Therapeutic Preschool provides early intervention where the risk of abuse or neglect for young children and their families providing early intervention where there is risk of abuse or neglect. Children overcome delays and parents and children develop skills for healthy relationships.

The program includes:

  • Therapeutic Preschool - Half day classes three times a week provide enrichment activities in all developmental areas. Transportation and meals are included.
  • Family Support - Home visits to the family by the teaching staff and family worker provide support to meet basic needs, parent education, and family enrichment activities
  • Therapy - Speech and language, occupational, physical and mental health therapy is available on-site to children as needed.

The Families Together Program applies current research on effective intervention for highly stressed, abused, and neglected children. Therapeutic preschools have been shown to be effective tools in preventing child abuse, as well as increasing positive adjustment for at-risk children.

Families Together receives funding from the United Way, private foundations and community partnerships, the Federal Child and Adult Care Food Program. Families Together collaborates with the St. Paul's Schools Readiness Program and Ramsey County Child Protection to identify and fund services for children and families who can benefit from program participation. Individual families do not pay for services.
